The Bingham Centre for the Rule of Law invites applications for its summer internship programme. The deadline is 1st March 2015.

The Bingham Centre www.binghamcentre.biicl.org is an independent, London-based research centre and a part of the British Institute of International and Comparative Law. The Centre seeks to provide an intellectual framework to define and implement the rule of law as a universal and practical concept; highlight threats to the rule of law; produce high quality studies and training on rule of law issues, drawing on comparative examples and seeking practical outcomes; support capacity building and promotes a wider appreciation of the rule of law among governments, decision makers and the wider public, and demonstrate how the rule of law upholds respect for human dignity and enhances economic development and political stability. The Centre is engaged in rule of law work in many jurisdictions including in recent times the UK, Bahrain, Burma/Myanmar, the Palestinian Authority, Nepal and Taiwan, and also at a comparative and regional level in Europe, Africa and the Commonwealth.

Interns should hold, or be in the process of completing, an LLM degree. You have the opportunity to participate in our research programme and in seminars, conferences and events that we may run at any particular time. Internships are volunteer positions and can be held for any three-month period during April-September 2015 (both early and late summer internships are therefore possible). For further information about the internship programme see www.biicl.org/internshipbingham.
